Oneman releases ‘Remixes & Edits’
Oneman has compiled some of his best Remixes & Edits and elected to give them away ahead of his upcoming tour of North America via XLR8R. The compilation houses tunes that have appeared in a variety of places; some have been freebies for various outlets, others were stream-only tunes on SoundCloud releases, and a few bangers have been exclusive to his live sets. Among the previously unreleased edits are juxtaposed cuts of TNGHT vs. Gucci Mane, Zomby vs. Dizzee Rascal, TLC vs. Dro Carey, and more. Download here
Vinyl Williams release ‘Stellarscope’
Vinyl Williams releases “Stellarscope” from his acclaimed “Lemniscate” LP on No Pain In Pop.
The single also features a Europa51 remix – a “supergroup of sorts” featuring ex-Stereolab member Andy Ramsay listen below.
Vinyl Williams interactive music video premiered by Dazed Digital
Lionel Williams and bandmate Nikita have created an immersive interactive music video to coincide with the release of ‘Stellarscope’. Dazed Digital premiered the experience, which you can play it online here.
“‘Stellarscope’ is an interactive environment. It’s meant to be explored as a generative process – in other words you create the visuals by wandering throughout. Certain objects have sounds that emanate out of them (rainforest sounds in the jungle, ambient drones out of celestial tree disks, low drones out of the ending chalice) which are in congruency with the actual song. If you can make into a close proximity to those objects during the duration of the song, in a sense you can jam with it. It’s supposed to allow navigation into a visual and sonic improvisational world. There is no interface or goal, it’s really about exploring, and ultimately a test of digital dexterity. It appears to be a little difficult to navigate through a space jungle kingdom built on seamless stream-of-consciousness.” – Vinyl Williams
