Jackmaster & Oneman present Can U Dance
Can U Dance. Not a question but a command. This summer two of the UK’s foremost selectors, Jackmaster and Oneman, are set to join forces and go beyond the realms of B2B to present a cohesive 4-deck party set across key festival dates. Taking in shows across the UK and Europe, the pair will be unveiling ‘Can U Dance’ at Field Day, Parklife, Exit, Dour, Dekmantel and Dimensions. There’s no great manifesto or conceptual nonsense, no masks or go-go dancers, it’s all about what comes out of those speakers. And as you’d expect, the melding of Jackmaster aka Jack Revill’s and Oneman aka Steve Bishop’s own distinct sonic styles sounds pretty, pretty good. (official website)
7th June – Field Day, London
8th June – Parklife, Manchester
10th July – Exit Festival, Serbia
17th July – Dour Festival, Belgium
1st August – Dekmantel Festival, Amsterdam
29th August – Dimensions Festival, Croatia
Forest Swords wins GIT Award 2014
Forest Swords has won the coveted GIT Award for 2014.
Unavailable to attend the concert due to a sold out show in Brighton, the Liverpool producer asked seminal dub artist Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry to provide a video for broadcast at the event. A screenshot of Lee’s blessing in the video is above.
Forest Swords is quoted as saying: “I was lucky enough for the legendary Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry to remix of a track of mine earlier in the year. I was uncomfortable with the idea of doing my own acceptance video for this award, so I asked the master himself to do it for me. I know he also feels a love for Liverpool. Thank you so much.”
